NashTech gains CMMI Maturity Level 5, Version 2.0

NashTech is delighted to announce that we’ve gained. CMMI-DEV V2.0 Maturity Level 5. We are the first company in Vietnam to be assessed at the highest Maturity Level of this new CMMI model. CMMI is a world-renowned capability and performance improvement framework. It helps improve performance by providing businesses with everything they need to consistently develop better products and services. We wanted to share with you why we have spent the last year striving for this important achievement and how it will benefit our clients.

Designed to optimise business performance, the CMMI model is a process by which businesses can measure their different capabilities against best practices and pinpoint which ones are driving higher performance.

CMMI is more than a process model; it’s also a behavioural model. Businesses can use CMMI to tackle the logistics of improving performance by developing measurable benchmarks. It can also create a structure for encouraging productive, efficient behaviour throughout the organisation.

CMMI Development is an integrated set of best practices that improves performance and key capabilities for organisations that develop products, components, and services.

NashTech recognised for high-quality continuous improvement

NashTech uses the tools and techniques of CMMI to help us make improvements and benchmark our best practices across all our client projects, our talent management programs and our own business operations. We use the framework to identify opportunities to improve operational performance and to achieve cost savings for our clients.

For us, it’s all about taking something good and making it better. NashTech is more efficient, streamlined, and rigorous and this enables us to make adjustments in service delivery in order to better achieve client goals at both the project and company-wide level.

CMMI Maturity Level 5 Version 2.0 can only be gained by organisations that demonstrate true process optimisation and continuous improvement. For NashTech, it was vital that we pursue the v2.0 appraisal to demonstrate our focus on process and performance improvement throughout the whole organisation.

In 2016 NashTech had already achieved ML5 v1.3. By streamlining our global projects, diminishing errors and leveraging overall efficiency, our performance has substantially been improved. Additionally, standard processes create a more structured way to operate in our business. Most importantly, organisations that are working to v.2.0 can significantly increase client satisfaction.

It has been taken a long time for the company to practice, prove and acquire this new version of CMMI, appraised at the highest maturity level. Hence, there are very few companies in the world who have achieved the CMMI Maturity Level 5 V2.0 so far. As the result of this, I am very proud that NashTech is the first company in Vietnam to have been appraised at the highest maturity level of CMMI-DEV V2.0. This is a proof point and acknowledgement about our service quality and the professionalism of our software development team

CMMI’s new ‘Integrated Product Suite’

New performance practices have been built into the CMMI model to emphasise and focus on improving organisational performance to recognise a more visible ROI. A focus on ROI is something that NashTech has appreciated as we’ve worked through the implementation of the new model during 2019 and 2020.

CMMI v2.0 also includes specific new guidance to help organisations that use agile methods for development. It helps to strengthen their processes and scale their agile practices with a focus on performance.

Here’s the new integrated product suite:

Maturity levels of business organisations

Maturity Level 1: initial

Businesses at this maturity level lack planning that can inform their decisions. They tend to lack processes that help them to account for current spending or future financial planning. Their lack of foresight usually leads to poor sustainability planning.

Maturity Level 2: managed

Companies within this heading can accomplish specific goals, with proper planning, management, and execution. These organisations also have feedback mechanisms in place to monitor and improve their processes going forward.

Maturity Level 3: defined

Organisations can accomplish goals set forward in Levels 2 and 3. Their processes are well-documented and understood. Companies who fall into this category can explain each of their processes and what they do. They are also aware of the scope of those processes and the standards they conform to. The procedures are proactive in trying to ensure that the business is continually improving in its efforts.

Maturity Level 4: quantitatively managed

At this level, the business is managed using statistical data and techniques that utilise the information to improve them in a manner that affects those metrics. Companies at Level 4 achieve the goals outlined in the previous three levels too. At Level 3, only the quality of the improvements can be predicted accurately. At Level 4, the exact value of the development can be determined precisely.

Maturity Level 5: optimising

This maturity level focuses on constant improvement. By focusing on the quantitative methodology established at the previous level, a business can innovate to optimise their current processes. This innovation is the core of the improvement process at maturity level 5. Feedback from the previous standard can help the business be aware of whether it’s hitting its goals or if something needs to change. Companies at Level 5 also can achieve all the goals outlined in the previous levels.
